St. Matthew Catholic Church

The St. John Paul Family Center has been recently completed and developed to be a multipurpose adult and youth activity facility. The center has been built on a 7-acre piece of land located one-half block north of the existing church property.

The Center is approximately 13,600 square feet and is designed to accommodate large meetings, educational activities, dinners, dances, receptions, retreats and other events.

Specific design elements include:
Four individual meeting rooms with space to seat 50 to 100 people for meetings or presentations, with a combined capacity of 290 people. These same meeting rooms can be used for small gatherings with people seated at tables holding between 20 - 50 people for a combined capacity of 135 people.

A large parish activity hall to accommodate 300 to 400 persons seated around tables or 600 to 650 people seated for a meeting or stage performance. The large meeting hall can hold approximately 900 people for a standing room only event.

Multiple restrooms are designed with shower facilities to allow overnight retreats or disaster relief support for the community. There is a full laundry with room for two washers and a dryer.

The kitchen is designed to function as a full service facility and will be equipped with commercial appliances. Meals can be prepared on site or the kitchen can be used by outside catering companies. The dishwashing area allows all dishes to be washed on site and stored in a large pantry.

There are two large storage rooms on either side of the parish hall to store all the tables and chairs required for a large event.

There is a 30 feet by 37 feet stage, that can be used to accommodate a band, facilitate a speaker, children’s play, or other performances. There are allowances for basic stage lighting and sound. There is an alcove off stage to house a piano and other musical instruments. The stage is accessible by stairs and a ramp.

There are four offices in anticipation of the future growth of our parish.

The large entry lobby is 25 feet by 33 feet (750 square feet) and will be welcoming to all who enter this facility. This area can be used for small receptions, luncheons, etc.

The covered entry drive allows front door drop off for those needing assistance and during inclement weather.

The asphalt parking lot is well lit and landscaped to fit into the residential neighborhood. There will be parking for approximately 100 vehicles with five spaces designated handicap.
